There's thunder in our hearts baby.
I LOVE this outfit (even if it is a bit too humid for this trench coat). The orange elephant print lining makes this coat really fun to wear. Plus, the coat is really water resistant, so it can also double as a stylish raincoat.
What I Wore:
Trench coat (with elephant print lining)- Coldwater Creek
Flower Headband- Etsy (Bebecha)
Sunglasses- J Lo. by Jennifer Lopez (TJ Maxx)
Floral Button Down Tank- Romeo and Juliet Couture (TJ Maxx)
Denim Cuffed Shorts- GAP
Pink Fruit Belt- GAP
Leggings- Bobi (lord and Taylor)
Floral Gladiator Sandals- ALDO
Pearl Necklce- Vintage

They call me mellow yellow. Quite rightly.
Today was such a gorgeous day! I couldn't help but go outside and enjoy it. The last couple of days have been really nice too. I've spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather with my friends. On Tuesday I drove into the city with one of them for dessert. We took a walk along the water and even spotted a couple of fishermen on their way to catching a 40 LB CARP! That fish was SO HUGE! I wish I had my camera at the time. My friend had hers and got some pictures (that I can't wait to see).
PS. HELLLLO new followers! I'm glad to have you.
What I wore:
Orange Headband- Vintage Old Navy
Wayfarer style sunglasses with hearts- J. Lo by Jennifer Lopez (TJ Maxx... $10 WHOO!)
Leather Jacket- Vintage from France (Etsy)
Grey Stripped Shirt- GAP
Blue Earrings- Avon
Black Shorts- Calypso St. Barth
Concho Belt- Nocona Belt Co.
Candie's Leather Booties- Vintage (Etsy)
Yellow Briefcase Bag- Cambridge Satchel Company (Modcloth)

Banana Pancakes
Somehow I stumbled upon Jim's Pancakes . Jim makes different shaped pancakes for his ADORABLE daughter, posts pictures of his creations, and shows how to make them. How cute! I love pancakes even more now.
In other news, here is an outfit inspiration for the day. I'm going to California in August, and this is something I would definitely wear:

Bridgin' the Gap
Today was just another low key day. I've been working on sanding/ smoothing some ice cream parlor chairs that my parents gave me. Once the chairs are sanded down I'm going to paint them (bubblegum pink or lavender... I'm not sure yet) and bring one up to my door room in the fall. I think I also want to get a dress form for my room, so that I can plan out my outfit the night before and put it on the form. I love dorm room decorating! It's definitely one of my favorite parts of college life.
Anyway, here is the outfit I wore today. I wish I had worn it around more, instead of just to the car repair shop to pick up my dad (one of our cars needed inspecting). The belt and leggings are from my recent shopping trip!

What I wore:
Yellow Faux Crocodile Headband- Nordstrom
Pink Tee- Gap
Navy Ruffle Tank- Gap
Pearl/Seed Bead Necklace- DIY
Belt- Anthropologie
Cuffed Shorts- Gap
Leggings- Bobi

Idlewild Blue (Don'tchu Worry 'Bout Me)
Since I spent the entire day looking for new pieces to build outfits, I have no pictures of today's outfit. Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed with my outfit today. It was cute of course, but a little too simple for my taste. When I shop, I try to be comfortable and simplistic, so that trying on clothes is as easy and painless as possible (I LOATHE trying on clothing and am a pro at "eyeballing" my size). However, even the pros make mistakes, so it's best to try clothing on. Keeping that in mind, my shopping outfits must accommodate the need to try things on. This means that I will ultimately be a little unhappy because my habit of layering half my closet cannot be accommodated. I do not feel quite right unless I'm wearing half my closet. SIGH.
I did have a good shopping day though. I found leggings (bicycle short length AND ankle skimming length; HOORAY!), an adorable belt from anthropologie. I even found a gorgeous BCBGirls sundress which I sadly left behind. Another day, another dress I suppose. I also succeeded at helping my mom find a few new pieces. That was fun too. I love you momma! We will be stylish together. Here's an outfit inspired by me, since I can't show you my actual outfit:

You Never Give Me Your Money.
I'm going SHOPPING tomorrow (not in front of my computer in my dorm room, or in my computer room at my house) but at an actual mall! Hip, hip, hooray (dance of joy)! Here's what's on my shopping list:
1) Knee High socks. <--- Gotta love them. Plus, sometimes I'm just not in the mood to wear tights.
2) Tights. My last pair ripped, so I distressed them. That way I could still wear them until I got a new pair (or two... or three).
3) A new belt. I wear my concho belt WAY too much. I need another go to belt. I need belts in general, since I wear them everyday.
4) A new sundress. I could not possibly have enough sundresses. Plus, wearing a sundress means no belts, and best of all, no pants (that would inevitably fall down even with a belt)!

Swim for your smile in a blue rock quarry.
So far today has been great. I went for a picnic with my friend. The picnic was awesome! I guess I should make it a point to picnic, or at least just get out of my house, a bit more often! Here are a few pictures from today:

White Sleeveless Button Down- DKNY (free from my old volunteer job)

Nine Inch Nails
So. I love this. Now, if I only had the patience to paint my fingernails (and wait for them to dry) in addition to my toenails. My favorite nail has got to be the one with the "Bat-signal".

I put my heart in your hand.
So. New outfit! I have always loved nautical inspired clothes and gray and white striped shirts. This outfit is the best of both worlds! I think my favorite piece in this outfit is the sunglasses. I love the sudden pop of color on the bottom.

Steal My Sunshine
So. Where did the sun go? This weather makes it seem like it should be almost fall, not almost summer. Weird weather patterns aside, the day wasn't too bad. I took a little walk down my dirt road barefoot. It was great! Feeling mud squish between my toes is always enjoyable. Here are some photos from today:

On an (almost) rainy monday... I feel it inside me.
Today was definitely a day to feel nostalgic for sunny weather. I wish it would go back to being balmy and sunny like it was a few days ago. The best cure for the blues (courtesy of not-so-sunny weather) is to design a warm weather outfit for the next sunny day (which, according to weather reports might be tomorrow). YIPEE!
