(Mink Pink floral blouse, Vintage beaded headband, GAP black tank, J. Crew shorts, Privo! by Clarks flats, Swiss Army watch)
I'm so glad that this week is almost at and end. I have had too much to do in the past few days and am really happy that tomorrow will be the start of a much needed break. Due to the weather, it looks like I will be curling up with some peppermint tea and my sociology books. I can't really complain all that much.

I grabbed this scarf at the ABC sale yesterday for a dollar. I love bargains!

I can dream of things you'll never see.

(Blossom Jacket, American Eagle Pants, DIY tie dye socks)
I picked these two items up today at the ABC clothing sale. I love college tag sales. All of the items are really cheap, and it's no trouble at all to find great things. The red polka dotted jacket was $5 and the purple pants were $4. I could have found much more, but I don't really need anything else right now.
I'm the most happy with the pair of purple pants. I was really lucky (since I didn't try them on). They fit really nicely and are soft and stretchy. I don't think the quality of clothing is as good as it used to be, especially at places like American Eagle. I'm pretty certain their pants are not as nice as the pair I just bought. I could tell the pants were an old pair from AE because the logo doesn't even have an eagle on it.
Overall, today was great. I went to the local coffee house with my roommate and got a lemon square (my favorite dessert [or in this case breakfast] ever) and a nice cup of hot chocolate. I also went grocery shopping and got cookie dough ice cream, among other things. Life is good, very good.

Singing winds,

(Coldwater Creek trench coat, John Callnan Fedora [Lord & Taylor], American Eagle aztec print top, GAP black tank top, Target lace skirt, Bobi leggings, Privo! by Clarks t-strap flats, Swiss Army watch)
This trench coat is the first item I ever purchased from Coldwater Creek. Usually, I'd dismiss that store as matronly or at least the opposite if my style. Then I found that trench coat. I couldn't pass up the flattering shape or the elephant print lining and reversible cuffs. I also discovered at a later date that the coat is water resistant and can serve as a rain coat. Perfection.
I have little else to tell you. My life currently consists of problem sets, studying for my bio exam (ALREADY in the second week of classes no less), and reading copious amounts from my reading packets. I'm hoping that this weekend is n=more eventful, or that I can at least find something awesome at the ABC clothing sale.
Ok I lied. I found something exciting (actually two exciting things). First of all, tonight there is a midnight howl. The Outing Club (on campus outdoor club) is howling at the moon at midnight. I will gladly take part in this. How could I possibly go wrong. Second, I remembered that I am expecting a package of vintage deliciousness. There will be an update on my new vintage piece when it arrives (hopefully sooner rather than later because I'm DYING to wear it).

Cause everything ain't what I used to know.

(J. Crew giraffe print headband, J.Crew Pink Polo, Ann Taylor sweater vest, GAP gray skinny cords, Privo! by Clarks t-strap flats, Vintage leopard print scarf turned ascot, Hello Kitty Band Aid, Swiss Army watch)
Can you tell I just watched Gossip Girl? I feel so preppy in this outfit. Admittedly, my style is always a bit preppy, since I favor bright colors, cardigans, flats, and headbands. I guess this outfit is just an amalgamation of all my loves, minus things with an edge (ie: black clothing, anything leather, anything studded).
To be truthful, I don't watch Gossip Girl for the plots, only for the clothes and the styling genius that is Eric Daman. I'm not sure if I would be classified as more of a Serena or Blair fashion wise. I think it depends on the day.

It's hard to make the things I did undone.

(DIY black bow headband, Ann Taylor button down, Eye Candy floral tank [TJ Maxx's], GAP 1969 jean leggings, Hello Kitty Band Aid, Vintage coral ring, David Yurman smoky quartz ring, Vintage pinky ring, David Yurman button earrings)
I have a feeling this is going to be a long week, so just a quick post before I go back to work. I hate to get ahead of myself, but I am very excited for this weekend. There is a HUGE clothing sale, where students can find cute clothes at cheap prices on Saturday. Last year I snatched up some great silk scarves for $1 a piece and a great pair of brown and red wool J. Crew pants for $4. I will also be heading off to the farmer's market to grab some fresh veggies and other tasty food. Hopefully I can grab some peppers, fresh basil, and OF COURSE some extra sharp Vermont cheddar cheese.

Mystic Seaport is that way.

(August Floppy Hat, David Yurman Button Earrings, Romeo+Juliet Couture Tank, Abercrombie Wool Sweater, GAP 1969 Legging Jeans, Sperry Topsider Boat Shoes, Spider Man Band Aid)
"Walcott" by Vampire Weekend is my new favorite song (in addition to the Vampire Weekend song "Ottoman"). I was a little hesitant to jump on the Vampire Weekend bandwagon, and I am not sure if I have yet. I guess you could say that I'm like Olive Hoover, running to catch the VW bus, but I haven't quite jumped on yet.

Thank God it's Friday...

I am SO glad that it is FINALLY Friday! This week has been a bit brutal, from the professor who assigned me 1 and 1/2 course packets (about 900 pages of reading) for next class (UGH), to my day with 9 hours of classes, to getting bogged down with a cold. Today has been really great though, as I have the rest of the day free, managed to grab hot chocolate and a lemon bar for breakfast (the best breakfast combo in my opinion), and saw a ton of my friends from my freshmen dorm last year.
I realized today that the only thing missing from my life at the moment is tap. I tapped for 15 years (from age three throughout high school), but had to stop once I got here because there is no tapping group on campus. I have decided that at some point (hopefully this year?) I will start one. Now I just need to order new tap shoes. I put holes in my last pair from tapping so much. That pair of taps was VERY well loved.
What I wore:
Beaded Headband- Vintage
Gray Tank- J. Crew
White Flutter Sleeve Shirt- GAP
Black and Blue Leggings- GAP
Infinity Scarf- Calypso St. Barth
Leather Boots- Seychelles

She don't believe in shooting stars...

Today has been a pretty decent day. I even got to sleep in! On Thursdays I have only my Bio lab. Today lab only lasted for an hour and a half, so now I have the rest of the day for my leisure. I'm pretty sure that having the rest of the day free just means I will have plenty of time to do all my work, but maybe I'll throw in something fun later, like getting Thai food. MMmmm!
What I wore:
Fedora- John Callnan (Lord and Taylor)
Brown 3/4 Sleeve Sweater- Ann Taylor
Floral Tie Neck Blouse- New York and Company
Flared Jeans- GAP
Booties- Vintage
Watch- Swiss Army

I can't get over the way you love me like you do.

I couldn't decide what to wear today, so I chose these Lucky Brand carpenter jeans. I hardly ever wear them. I'm not sure why I never wear this glorious pair of jeans (they're so comfy)! Anyway, I had a crazy day. I had all 4 of my classes (due to poor planning on my part). My favorite class is definitely my English class on the Ethics of Fiction. Today we discussed how fiction transcends the time that the work is published in, and how much expanding our minds through reading can really teach us. It was VERY cool.
What I wore:
Button Earrings- David Yurman
Tortoise Butterfly Clip- J. Crew
Haight Ashbury Shirt- Haight Ashbury T-shirts
Draped Cardigan- Jones New York (Lord and Taylor)
Carpenter Jeans- Lucky Brand Jeans
Boat Shoes- Sperry Top Siders

Hey! I'm gonna get you too...

This is an abbreviated post because I'm off to the College Organization Fair (Purple Key Fair) in a few minutes. Basically, I'm trying to help recruit freshmen (and other class members) to the clubs that I help run on campus. I figure if I look snazzy, we'll get more recruits!
What I wore:
Giraffe Print Headband- J. Crew
Tortoise Butterfly Clips- J. Crew
Leather Jacket- Vintage
Geode Necklace- California Academy of Sciences Gift Shop
Batik Shirt- Vintage
Concho Belt- Nocona
Navy Leggings- Charlotte Russe
Leather Boots- Seychelles
Coral Ring- Vintage
Smoky Quartz Ring- David Yurman
Pinky Ring- Vintage
It was a graveyard smash.

Tattoo your name across my heart.

Since today is Monday, I wanted the most comfortable outfit possible to get me through the day. Usually, I exhibit a lot of disdain towards people who wear leggings as pants, but I was in a hurry and totally against wearing normal pants this morning, so I set aside my disdain. I think I will continue to set those feelings aside because I absolutely adore these *almost* pants.

Such a long long time to be gone...

As a college student, you realize that there are not enough hours in the day. I certainly didn't have enough hours in the day today. I will have attended four meetings (my last two are in a few hours), gone grocery shopping, made posters, gone for a walk, read 40 pages of biology, and written a paper by the end of the day. However, all's well that ends well. For the first time in a LONG time, I did not procrastinate and GASP got all my work done in a timely fashion. In a few hours I will be eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (made by yours truly) with my house (I'm the RA), and I might even make it to bed by 10:30 pm. Mission Accomplished!

Time came a creeping. Oh, and time's a loaded gun.

I just received this headband in the mail and felt that I needed to do it justice by wearing it. I have a feeling that I will be wearing this headband quite often. There are multiple reasons, including but not limited to the following:
- It's awesome.
- The color scheme goes with everything.
- Surprisingly, this headband is not all that heavy. Plus, since I tie it on, there's none of that annoying head pinching. I appreciate that lack of head pinching. SCORE!
Beaded Headband- VIntage
Mr. Rogers Eco Cardigan- Alternative Apparel [This cardigan happens to be my favorite thing EVER. You will surely see it a lot during the fall].
Purple T-shirt- Old Navy [My first purchase from Old Navy is quite a long time. I was very impressed by this shirt AND it's clearance sale price].
Skinny Jeans- GAP 1969
Two Tone Leather Boots- Seychelles
