I'm going home for Thanksgiving Break tomorrow! I finally get to sleep in my own bed, raid a fully stocked refrigerator, see my family, have bare feet in the shower (and not get scabies), do laundry for free (or if I'm lucky maybe have my momma do it), and eat lots of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Oh Happy Day! My parents will have to roll me into the car and back to college.
I already warned my parents that I will be emptying out the refrigerator at least once. I also submitted a menu of foods I would like to have when I'm home. Of course, I will do this dishes and go grocery shopping in exchange. I will also help with the Thanksgiving meal. No one will have to ask me twice to cook in a kitchen that isn't covered in Easy Mac, Ice Cream, Ramen Noodle seasoning, and other UFOs (Unidentified Food Objects), or to go to Wegman's. Stop N' Shop just does not compare to Wegman's in any way.
On to the outfit. I got these Falke leggings for free (due to an Asos shipping mix up). They got lost in the mail, so I got my money back. Then the leggings ceased to be lost in the mail (after I had already gotten my money back). YAY! The LA Made leggings are also new. They are most certainly the most comfortable leggings I own. Plus, they're stretchy enough to fit long underwear underneath when it's cold. Perfecto!

(J. Crew skinny headband, J. Crew black long sleeve shirt, Theory draped wool vest, Calypso St. Barth infinity scarf, GAP jeans)
FREEEEDOM! It's basically Friday (or at least it will be in less than three hours), which means I am SO close to the weekend. Huzzah! I am so excited to finally have time to breathe and to no longer have to choose between sleep and grades.
In other news, I am off to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter tonight. I'm not really a big movie goer, and over the past few years I've lost the majority of my Potter mania, but I am excited nonetheless. To be honest, I am the most excited for a bag of popcorn with a ridiculous amount of butter on it (with the butter layered of course, so I can savour all the buttery goodness).

I apologize for the amount of time between posts. This week I was inundated with school work. I had a paper due this week as well as a 20 question organic chemistry problem set due this week. Also, I have a bio exam as well as an organic chemistry exam next week, so I've been studying for those, I have a lab results to verify and use to make derivatives, a bio lab report, and a sociology presentation on animal rights to plan. AAAAND I have dance practice twice a week. I'm in a Bhangara dance group at school, which I love. It's so fun! Being in a dance group is a great way to relieve stress. Jumping around and stomping my feet always seems to do that. Basically, I'm a busy woman, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Onward and upward to the clothing aspect of the blog! I don't have an outfit to post today, as dance pants and moisture wicking tees are not too exciting. However, Christmas presents to myself are exciting (for me and for you too)!
Present #1) Dani Stahl Leggings (via LnA clothing)
I've fully embraced wearing leggings as pants. These leggings are possibly the coolest pants I have ever seen. I am a bit rock n' roll at heart (and hopefully not just a groupie) so getting these made my day. Getting them on sale ALSO made my day.
Present # 2) Suedette Shearling Jacket (via Forever 21)
Excluding a floral mini (very mini) skirt I got bought years ago, this is my first Forever 21 purchase. I have always had mixed feelings about Forever 21. I am not opposed to buying things cheaply, but I usually buy things on sale at Lord & Taylor, GAP, and J. Crew, or I find a vintage version on Etsy. I feel like something that I buy on sale at Lord and Taylor for $20 will last longer than anything I pay $20 for at Forever 21. I really like my clothes to last a long time. Granted, I have a TON of clothes, but I've had several of my pieces for at least 4 years because they were made so well. Also, I don't really like how Forever 21 makes carbon copies of things off the runway, instead of just being inspired by the runway. This jacket is basically my test run for Forever 21. If things go well, maybe I'll buy something else from Forever 21 in the future.

(American Eagle Plaid Shirt)
Today I proved that I am actually capable of wearing my hair down. I don't know why I wear my hair down so infrequently. Here it is in all it's fluffy, curly glory. Coming soon: My (early) Christmas presents to myself.

(DIY red ribbon headband, J. Crew white tee, vintage blazer, my roomie's cowboy hat)
(DIY blue jay feather headband [no birdies were harmed in the making of this accessory], Vintage sweater, GAP purple long sleeve shirt)
These are the only pictures I took this week. Sorry! I've been a busy woman, doing this thing called COLLEGE. It's a novel thing really. Plus, this week is homecoming, so apparently, my being busy is never going to stop. I can't promise any pictures of this weekend, but I can promise that I will attempt to be a responsible blogger (which includes feeling obligated to take some pictures). What have I been listening to this week? OutKast's "Rosa Parks." That is all.

(Vintage lace dress, GAP black tank, DIY blue jay feather headband, Target white lace skirt, Falke sweater knee high socks, Seychelles leather boots, Swiss Army watch)
This post is just a brief interlude in between my much needed studying. My brain really just needs a little break. In other news, I've been listening to "Grenade" by Bruno Mars and "Aquemini" by OutKast on repeat for the past few days. I'm not usually a big Bruno Mars fan, but this song is actually quite good and the harmonies are really nice. I do like the Lisa Lavie version better (check it out on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI_UMEt9qhU), but overall Bruno Mars' "Grenade" is very good. It's much better than the other music that's out and about right now *cough cough* "We R Who We R" *cough cough*.
I don't know why I hadn't discovered the song "Aquemini" earlier (since OutKast IS my favorite musical duo EVER), but I can honestly say that I was not a legitimate fan of OutKast until that moment. Well, that moment, and the moment I discovered OutKast's "BOB". Andre I love you. You are a genius. Sir Luscious Left Foot, I love you too.
