Show me what you got baby.

(GAP Free Bird Hoodie, GAP sweater, Juliet and Company necklace, Madewell jeans, Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo riding boots)
I'm not a sweatshirt girl at all. I can't stress that enough. However, (my) rules are meant to be broken, for two reasons. One, I love this sweatshirt. It's cute, comfy, and a lovely shade of blue. Second of all, it's FREEZING here, and under sixty degrees. Not only is that unacceptable for the summa time, but it's just plain cold. Sweatshirt time!

To everything there is a season...

(WalMart floral department flower, American Eagle tunic, Juliet & Company crochet necklace, woven bracelet from the Bahamas, Dillon Rogers leather stamp bracelet, Low Luv X Erin Wasson thunderbird cuff, Vintage ring, Chan Luu wrap bracelet, Swiss Army watch)
So, I've finally jumped on the Chan Luu train. I received this leather, coral, and rose gold bracelet as a birthday present. I have to admit that I was not a fan of Chan Luu products until I got this bracelet a couple of days ago. I won't buy something just because everyone else seems to have it. In fact I tend to dislike things if everyone is buying them, even if they are cute! I am happy with my new wrap bracelet though. It goes with everything. You can catch a few of the other members of my (pretty sizable) bracelet collection in these photos. I almost picked up another bracelet at the mall today, but I'm trying to save bookoo bucks for grad school, so....

The Kids Don't Stand a Chance...
I don't know how I called myself a Vampire Weekend fan without having heard "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance". There is even a sweet remix featuring Miike Snow. How can you go wrong with a Miike Snow and Vampire Weekend collaboration? Exactly. You can't.
In other news, it's my BIRFDAY (birthday if you desire the word to be spelled correctly...I can't decide which one to use. Maybe it's the English major in me?) So far so good as far as the birthday celebration goes. Hopefully I'm another year wiser along with the obligatory year older!
Here is a collage I made, a sort of birthday present to myself if you will. I'm planning to put it on my dorm room wall, but for now I need to find a place for it in my room.
xoxo,
Laura

Walking On A Dream...

(Bass sandals)
Hello readers!
I realize it's been a while since I've done a legitimate blog post. Here is a photo diary of sorts from the past few weeks of my summer vacation. I've been doing a lot of coloring in my Indie Rock Coloring Book. I love that thing (and coloring, which is so cathartic). The first picture is inspired by the singer Joseph Arthur. The second picture is a view from my bedroom window. I'm fortunate to have a lot of natural light. The bracelet in the third photograph is from my jaunt to the Bahamas, my tan feet can be seen in Bass sandals in photo number five. Picture number four features some enchiladas I made. YUM!
Typically, I don't watch the MTV Movie awards, why bother, the award will just go to Robert Pattison (or R. Patz... affectionately). Said affection does not come from me. BAH. Anyhoo, I watched a very awkward clip of the award ceremony yesterday, for "Best Male Performance" (Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake sure know how to keep things strange). Also, the opening sequence for "Best Male Performance" was even more awkward. I suppose MTV stopped pretending that young impressionable children, or people who value high standards ceased watching long ago (cough JERSREY SHORE cough). But I digress, there is a point to my MTV related rant. During the list of nominees for "Best Male Performance", I discovered a cool Australian Band, Empire of the Sun. If you like MGMT or think trippy psychedelic synth pop sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee... if you must), check them out. Look no further than below this rant.
Toodles,
Laura

A far out, lunar inspired collaboration between Jeremy Laing and Scott Treleaven for their Fall Collection. Consider me a fan!

Check. Check. Check it out!
Who knew CNN and streetstyle would mix so well? I didn't.
Baby pandas are hilarious. So are otters.
I love Marais.
Every Teardrop is A Waterfall is a neat addition to Coldplay's repertoire. I approve.
Another song I approve of? "The Look" by Metronomy.
This guy's cartoons never get old and are a breath of fresh air.
Shop Ban.do. Do it(but only if you like headbands as much as me).
Self explanatory. I really wish that show hadn't been canceled. BOO!
Hopefully your Onion horoscope isn't as bad as mine.

Eat it.
Hello readers. Hola appetites. I don't have an outfit photo for you today, but I do have a photo of something I whipped up in the kitchen... a fruit tart! You can find the recipe here. I was pretty sad to cut into the tart and ruin it, so I made my padre do the honors. Taste testing verdict? DELICIOUS. Phew (my hours in the kitchen weren't wasted)! Plus, it's puuuuuuurty (if I do say so myself).
xoxo,
Laura

This week's post is in honor of Foster the People's release of their first full length album Torches. I haven't listened to the entire album yet... but what I have heard has yet to disappoint me. Plus, today I learned that Foster the People can pull off a pretty sweet live show. Check them out at SXSW here.
XOXO,
Laura

In a flash like that, recognize I'm back!

(Vintage Perry Ellis scarf, Hurley tank)
Hello there readers! I am officially a Bahama Momma (as I was pleasantly/not so pleasantly reminded on a daily basis by some beach hecklers). I have never been offered so many Booze Cruises/Jet Ski Rides/ Parasail Rides/ Banana Boat Rides/ Bungee Jumping Excursions/Snorkling Excursions in my entire life. I have also never been this tan (please pay no mind to my OBNOXIOUS tan lines).
